One of the four major special offerings in the Presbyterian Church is Pentecost which commemorates the birth of the New Testament Church. Jesus challenged his disciples, and us, to take His word to the ends of the earth. Part of our “assignment” as Christians is to emulate Christ’s care of the people suffering or in need. The Pentecost offering is divided into local and world-wide ministries for children and young adults. 40% of your offering goes to children at risk in our community. 60% goes to the Presbyterian Mission Agency for ministries with youth and young adults. It is your opportunity to serve God beyond your borders for the little ones you see suffering around the world. A special envelope is in your Informer for a donation above and beyond your regular giving to our church. No gift is too small. Checks can be made out to our church and designated for Pentecost Offering on the memo line. They can be put in the collection plate on Sunday, June 7th or mailed to the church. Thank you for your witness to the most vulnerable of God’s people.
Take a Sack and Bring it Back
Thank you to all who filled a grocery sack with much-needed food items that went to the Lighthouse of North Oakland County which serves Waterford and Clarkston areas. We will have the total number of bags donated in the June Informer. The Mission Committee appreciates your generosity and so do the people who struggle to put food on their tables.
